Ago, lesina, spago e pinza, tutto deve essere ogni volta ben calibrato con esattezza, così come va sempre controllato ogni parte del punto. Su ogni scarpa, ad esempio, si fanno dai 250 ai 270 punti, durante i quali si passa in continuazione nello spago uno speciale grasso misto a pece, per rendere il punto completamente impermeabile e tenace.

L’IDEA, UNA GRANDE TRADIZIONE CHE SI RINNOVA
Le calzature uomo QUARVIF nascono da un’idea che è la continuità di uno stile ed ha alle spalle una lunga tradizione artigianale. Dall’idea si passa allo schizzo che serve da base per il modello in carta che, applicato a sua volta su di una sagoma in legno a forma di piede, è sottoposto ad un lavoro di perfezionamento. A questo punto si realizza il primo prototipo in pelle, si prova, si collauda e si rifinisce tanto da poterne ricavare il modello definitivo. Questo modello serve per ricavare la sagoma in cartone e mediante un pantografo, realizzare tutte le altre misure affini al modello. Solo dopo questa prima fase si passa alla vera e propria lavorazione della scarpa.
PELLI A CONCIA “NATURALE” E TINTE ALL’ANILINA
Per ogni modello, a seconda della stagionalità, del sistema di lavorazione e del disegno, si scelgono le pelli più adatte. Per la tomaia si prediligono pelli di vitello, di capra, di canguro e di cervo, tutte pelli di qualità con caratteristiche di robustezza, morbidezza, traspirazione e dall’impronta piena e ben marcata. Per la suola si usa il cuoio che è sempre pelle di bue, mucca o vitellone, mentre per le fodere si usano morbide pelli di capretto. A scelta avvenuta, si posizionano le sagome del modello nei punti più uniformi e centrali della pelle, cercando di sfruttare il pieno fiore e con un trancino a mano si tagliano le varie “pezze” che compongono la scarpa.

Shoe processing, from the preparation of the vamp to the mounting into the shoes tree, from the sewing of the first sole to the vamp and of the second to the rimming , requires complete mastery of working techniques at all stages, profound knoledge of the materials used and a manual relation – with no mediation to a machine – with the footwear to be produced. Executing the GOODYEAR processing is, in fact, an art that requires competence, calm, patience and, above all, precision. Needle, awl, string and pliers, everything must be every time well calibrated with accuracy, exactly the same way every part of the stitching is always controlled with. On every shoe, for instance, are used something like 250-270 stitches, during which a special grease mixt with tar is continuously passed into the string in order to get the stitch completely waterproof and strong.
THE SECRET OF UNPARALLELD TECHNICAL PERFECTION
GOODYEAR footwear is extremely smart and it conceals in itself the secret of an unreachable technical perfection. Look! Point by point, the main advantages. The first one concerns the strength of the sewing which, not being in contact with the corroding sweat of the foot and the continuous rubbing with the ground, last much longer than a normal shoes sewn at sight. The second one concerns raw materials which, being subjected to a particular processing so that they can support the stitch, they must be all first quality and strength. The third point concerns walking and adaption of the shoes to the foot which, in this case, after a first feeling of stiffness, combines itself perfectly to the foot, giving utmost nimbleness to the walk. THE IDEA, A GREAT TRADITION RENEWING ITSELF
QUARVIF footwear is born from an idea which is the continuity of a style and it has a long artisan tradition behind. From the idea, we proceed to the sketch that is used as basis for the paper model which, applied in its turn on a wooden shape footlike, undergoes a perfectioning work. At this point we carry out the first prototype in hide, we try it, prove it and give it the finishing touch so that we can get the final model. This final model is used to get a shape in cardboard and by means of a pantograph, we obtain all the other measures similar to the model. Only after this first stage, we proceed to the proper shoe processing.
HIDES OF “NATURAL” TANNING AND DYED WITH ANILINE
According to the season, the working system and the drawing, for every model we choose the most suitable hides. For the wamp we choose calfskins, kid, cangaroo and buckskins – all hides of quality with the characteristcs of strenght, softness, perspiration and with a full and well marked print – ; for the sole we use leather which is always ox, cow, calf; while for the lining we use soft kidskins. Having made the choice, the model shapes are placed on the most even and central spots of the hide, tying to make the most of the full flower and we cut the various “patches” making up the shoe, using a hand cutter.

Um diesen Schuh herstellen zu können – von der Anfertigung des Oberteiles bis zum Einleisten, vom Zusammennähen der Brandsohle mit dem Oberteil und der Laufsohle mit dem Rahmen (siehe nebenstehende Skizze) – muß man alle einschlägigen Techniken beherrschen, eine gründliche Materialkenntnis und großes manuelles Geschick besitzen, da keine Maschinen verwendet werden. Die Verarbeitung nach dem Rahmengenäht verfahren ist eine Kunst, die großes Fachwissen, Präzision und Ausdauer erfordert. Die verschiedenen Handwerkzeuge werden mit Sorgfalt ausgewählt und für den Zweck abgestimmt. So wird z.B. jeder Schuh mit 250 bis 270 Stichen versehen, durch die der gepechte Schusterzwirn gezogen wird, um die vollständige Wasserundurchlässigkeit zu erreichen.
DAS GEHEIMNIS UNVERGLEICHLICHLER TECHNISCHER PERFEKTION
Der Rahmengenäht Schuh ist äußerst elegant und birgt das Geheimnis technischer Perfektion. Seine Vorzüge sind die starken Nähte, die weder mit dem Fuß noch mit dem Boden in Berührung kommen und deshalb viel länger halten als ein normal durchgenähter Schuh; außerdem ermöglicht das erstklassige Rohmaterial die besondere Verarbeitungsweise. Nach anfänglich leichter Steifheit schmiegt sich der Schuh in kürzester Zeit dem Fuß perfekt an und trägt sich äußerst bequem. Nach Beendigung des schwierigsten Arbeitsganges, des Zusammennähens von Oberteil und Sohle, genannt Rahmengenäht-verarbeitung, wird der Absatz angebracht und alles überschüssige Material weggefräst.

Das Anbringen einer Decksohle mit Fußbett, das Glätten, Eincremen und Polieren in Verbindung mit kleinen, aber wichtigen orthopädischen Rafinessen, immer unter Berücksichtigung der Fußanatomie, ermöglicht höchste Geschmeidigkeit bein Tragen. Der handgenähte Schuh ist ein Produkt von außerordentlicher Haltbarkeit, an dem jede Kleinigkeit mit sehr viel Sorgfalt bearbeitet wird, so wie es ein Schuster bei Maßarbeit zu tun gewohnt war. FORTSCHRITTLICHE IDEEN, AUS DER TRADITION GEBOREN
Der Quarvif Schuh ist das Ergebnis langjähriger handwerklicher Tradition und die Weiterentwicklung besonderer Kreativität. Die Idee wird zu Papier gebracht, die Skizze dient als Basis für das Papiermodell, dieses wird auf den Leisten umgelegt. Dann wird der erste. Prototyp in Leder hergestellt, probiert und verfeinert, bis sich das Modell herausschält. Aus diesem Modell gewinnt man die Schablone und mittels einer Gradiermaschine die verschiedenen Größen. Für jedes Modell wird je nach Jahrezeit und Verarbeitung das entsprechende Leder gewählt: für das Oberteil Kalb- Ziegen- Känguruh- oder Hirschleder, sie sind besonders widerstandsfähig, weich und luftdurchlässig; für die Sohle ausgewählte Kernleder, für das Futter weiches Ziegenleder. Nach erfolgter Auswahl werden die einzelnen Schnittmuster des Modells auf das vollnarbige Leder gelegt und von Hand zugeschnitten.
